For more on breathing techniques and benefits,
Yoga: The Spirit and Practice of Moving into Stillness
by Eric Schiffman – Wonderful chapter on breathing.
Back Care Basics By Mary Pullig Schaz, MD
Abdominal breathing is explained very well in this book, with good ways to visualize deep breaths.
Yoga Anatomy by Leslie Kaminoff, Amy Matthews, & Sharon Ellis
There’s a chapter that gives you a detailed description on how to breathe deeply and what each part of the body involved is doing during the process. Very cool.
