This book is great for detailed explanations on asanas, as well as good guide for basic stretches to work back to a more mobile body. Very well-written with a nice emphasis on the relaxation response and manifestations of mental stress on the physical body.
This was on the book list for my yoga teacher training program; my copy is yellow with highlights and full of tabs marking pages I liked. It was a great introduction to me for how healing and empowering yoga can be. ~Jordan
